"Automated Needle Torque Sensor"
The long term goal of this project is to establish the usefulness
of needle torque measurements for the diagnosis and monitoring
of connective tissue pathology associated with chronic musculoskeletal
conditions treated by manual therapies.

"Acupuncture Needling Force and Motion Sensor"
The long term goal of this project is improvement in the quality
of acupuncture treatment. This will be accomplished by developing
a tool capable of tracking acupuncture needle movement and force

of objectively measuring acupuncture needle torque in a clinical

While in school Elizabeth completed extended internships at
both the San Diego Hospice and the University of California
San Diego Free Clinic Project serving the homeless and underserved.
Through her experience she learned how to treat a wide variety
of ailments, treating not just the symptom but the underlying
cause as well.
